Barratt Waugh
Singer and Composer

“A voice not just for today, but for many tomorrows”. Don Black, Oscar winning lyricist.
Barratt Waugh is a special talent with an unique voice, who first came to the UK’s attention when he featured on Michael Barrymore’s MY KIND OF PEOPLE and MY KIND OF MUSIC. Following his success on these shows, he went on to perform 90 dates at the Royal Albert Hall supporting CLIFF RICHARD.
Barratt has a mellow style, with a contemporary feel. With his superb baritone timbre, a 3 and a half octave range, and ability to deliver every song in his own inimitable way Barratt never fails to silence a room and touch your soul.
Barratt was signed by Warner Bros. Record Classics subsidiary Erato, and in 2000 his album, ‘I LOVE YOU,GOODBYE,’ a collaboration with Diane Warren, was released in Japan, France and the USA. 50,000 copies were sold. The album was declared by USA’s QVC as their fastest selling album for a debut artist, selling more than 400 copies in 10 minutes. Atlantic Records picked up on one of the tracks, ‘A TIME FOR US’ and released a club version, which made it to Number 14 in the Billboard play chart.
Barratt demonstrates his passion for music through his writing and vocal interpretation and in 2002, Barratt started writing his own material. It was during this time, when working alongside writer/producer Ryan Laubscher, that Barratt found his ‘other voice.’ Writing several tracks together, they created Barratt's second album "Much Love..."
Barratt released the single ‘SKIP A BEAT’ in June 2003, under his own label, BNW Records which reached number 5 on The BOX. During this time Barratt performed a 100 date nationwide school tour promoting a poignant anti bullying message in association with the ABC (Anti Bullying Campaign). He also appeared at Live & Loud in Hampden Park, Summer Pops in Liverpool and has supported such artists as Blue, Liberty X, Lulu, Freddie Starr, as well as Michael Barrymore's live tour, and the ever-supportive Sir Cliff.
Earlier this year, Barratt worked in Australia where he was inundated with requests to perform at a number of private and corporate functions, as well as appearing live in many radio stations in Perth and Sydney. Barratt also features in his own 30 minutes fly on the wall documentary which is currently being played across Australia, and is due to tour next year covering most major cities as well as, after much interest, the debut Australian release of his first album through Warner Classics. Barratt will also be performing live on national radio and television.
2011 looks to be a very exciting year for this unusual and talented artist.
